The Ox Had Its Year

2008 was real ruff. Hardest year of me life. 2009 was trill. Enjoyable overall. Highlights: Hanging out with friends, listening to music and eating food. Lowlights: I crashed a car and lost at a game of Monoply last night.

That dude, Skillz, did another "Rap Up" song with 2009. VA reppin'. It's cool, he covers everything.

Rihanna needs to chill out with her bad girl image. We get it, grrl. You bad and naughty. Shawty tryin' to hard. Good girls are what's up anyway.

I was gonna end it on that note, but it's the end of the year and it should end on a posi note so: \m/ 4 lyf.

"When your lips are low... to do what?"

D'Angelo is the shit. Dude's from Richmond. Pastor's kid. He came out with an album when he was like 20 or somethin' and everybody was feelin' it. Then he dropped Voodoo. R&B/Neo-soul classic. People were calling him "R&B Jesus". He's different from Maxwell or Neyo 'cause he plays the instruments and writes all his songs. He's a real musician who wears glasses and plays video games. Total nerd. But his manager told him to take his shirt for his "Untitled" video and it got him a lot of attention from the ladies. At shows, in the middle of his songs they would start yelling at him to take his shirt and shit and it really pissed him off. He would do crunches before shows to keep his body fit and shit 'cause he felt pressured by his fans and label. Eventually he got tired of it all and porked the fuck out:
He started doin' a bunch of coke, got arrested for random shit and was pretty sequestered. But then there was talk about D'Angelo makin' a comeback. A song from his album, James River, leaked and it was hot shit. He's fit now and every year since then he's been saying that he's gonna release the album and start doing shows but he never does. Either way this song is called "Really Love" from his upcoming album and it's fuckin' sick. Probably the most romantic song about fellatio.

"It's like 'True Blood' I sink my teeth in".

This physics professor, Marin Soljačić, figured out a way to get wireless electricity. If you get two magnetic fields to resonate you can transfer electricity through the air. Whatever that means. Read about it here.

I heard this song on Friday night on the radio. It's real catchy. The Dream like replaced The Neptunes as the go to guy for making hits.

Gabba gabba gobble gobble

Adam Carolla is a genius. I've always had bad insomnia. Since I was in the 5th grade I would listen to Loveline, which came on at 10pm to 12 every night because I couldn't sleep. He's super hilarious and taught me almost everything I know about life. But I was like in 10th grade when Adam quit the show and they got a new guy and I stopped listening but recently found a website that has a bunch of old Loveline episodes that I'd been enjoying. It rules. This is it: (link).

Eddie Izzard doesn't make me laugh out loud, but I still like watching his stand ups.

This is OFN, but I don't hear enough people talking about Whitney Houston these days. Or maybe I just hang out with the wrong people. Either way, it's an awesome comeback. Swizz Beats did the production, Alicia Keys wrote the song and Alicia is never fails. Whitney's voice is different but I really like it.

I asked my dad if he ever gets depressed and he said he never does 'cause he's too busy to get depressed. While goin' to school I have a lot of time on my hands. I can't wait to graduate and get a job so I'll never have be to bummed out.

Me: Say wha? You tryna chill?
Depression: Yea, it's been forever, Van.
Me: Sorry, I be too busy, peace.

I'm very excited about their new album droppin' December 8th. This video is nuts.

"Yo, Curtis, it's 4:19. Got a minute?"

This is my main mane's movie. Why Are You Weird. It rules. I haven't related with a movie like this since The Rock, which is practically a documentary of my life. If you know about being an awkward wallflower, you'll appreciate this movie.

"Forgive them, even if they are not sorry"

I did laundry, washed dishes, watched 2 movies, took a dump and that's pretty much it. I saw Julian Casablanca (frontman of Strokes) on Conan and his new song is really dope. I was super surprised, especially since I didn't dig Strokes too much. Lyrics are really good too. Evan says I'm late on this song so I apologize to those that are yawning. I saw Orphan today and it was entertaining. Vera Farmiga is babelicious. Lately I haven't cared about whether a movie is good artistically, but rather how entertaining it is. I wonder if that'll last forever or is a just a phase.

I rilly love this song. It's almost my favorite song. Whenever I hear it I get rilly hyped and wanna put on boxing gloves, raise my fists in the air and run around the block. This is the Lil Jon remix with Andre 3000, Jim Jones, Nelly, Murphy Lee, Rich Boy and The Game. Everyone's verse stands rilly strong on this track. They done killed it. Andre 3000's verse is best, but my favorite is Nelly and Murphy Lee's verse. They share the verse and it's a beautiful tag team delivery of awesome Southern hip hop. It's teamwork at its best.

WARNING: THIS POST IS A PLUG. A BUTTPLUG THAT IS. (I apologize in advance for wasting people's time with this post.

My homeboy, Tucker Bennett, is dropping his debut joint in 2 weeks. If you live San Francisco go to 800 Chestnut St at 8pm Oct. 30th for the debut screening. It's called Why Are You Weird?. It's a comedy about kid with webbed feet. I helped make music for it. It's the real shit. You know how the Bible isn't included on the New York Times Best Seller list 'cause it's always number one? Well this movie is so good that they already disqualified it from the 2010 Academy Awards.

This is the website: http://www.nextwave4u.info/

Here's a clip from the movie I think?

For the past couple days my roommate, Evan, went back home to Virginia Beach for fall break and I been kickin' solo dolo. Cookin' spaghetti, watchin' Netflix, etc. Made me realize this is gonna be my life when I graduate, get a job and move out on my own. Pretty lonely.

I woke up and dry heaved. Paul Jones is gross. I always regret it the morning after but forget all about it the next time. JD Salinger only wrote one novel and like 2 novellas or something. Way back in the 60's. He doesn't write anymore books. Motherfucker skraight chills on his royalties from like 50 years ago. Anyway, I'm gonna spit some more about me. I'm majoring in sociology. I got a business associates from Tidewater Community College and a music production certification. This is boring, I'm gonna stop for now. On the way home from school, I was biking and had headphones on. I was listening to "LOL Smileyface" by Trey Songz and started singing "Shorty wanna sex me, LOL smileyface" and this girl passes me from behind laughing at me.

I know erbody hates Paris Hilton and all that, but I rilly like this music video.

If I could redo high school I would be a jock.

I go to Virginia Commonwealth University. I'm kind of a sophomore and a half since I transferred and all my credits didn't get transferred. I transferred from Tidewater Community College, which is in Virginia Beach. More later.

This is a cover of an Akon song called "I Wanna Fuck You" that CocoRosie did.
